Don't Turn Your Back on the Atlantic
Is This Beach a Good Choice Today?
Sea conditions vary across Tenerife, even on the same day. Select any beach to instantly check the current water temperature, wave height, wind and swimming conditions, helping you find the perfect spot to enjoy the Atlantic.
Sea Conditions
Tenerife’s coastline tells the story of its volcanic origin. From dramatic black sand beaches shaped by ancient lava flows to golden beaches and natural rock pools (charcos), every stretch of coast has its own personality. One curious fact: much of the island’s golden sand is imported from the Sahara, while the black sand is entirely volcanic.
Which beach should you choose? If you’re looking for wild scenery, black sand beaches are hard to beat. Prefer calm waters for swimming? Golden beaches and many natural pools are often the best option, although you should always check sea conditions before entering the water.
Every beach has a story to tell—sometimes the most memorable part of your visit begins when you look beyond the shoreline.
